FESTIVAL JAZZ ET KLEZMER : VICTOIRE CONTRE LE KKL
MOBILISATION CONTRE L’AMBASSADE D’ISRAEL !
Le 13ème Festival de musique Jazz et Klezmer a lieu actuellement à Paris.
L’idée sur laquelle s’appuie ce festival est certes intéressante : il s’agit d’établir un pont entre deux musiques aux racines populaires : le Jazz et la musique Klezmer, musique qui s’était développée avant la seconde guerre mondiale en Europe de l’Est au sein de la culture et de la langue juives qu’était le yiddish.
Au cours des années précédentes la Campagne BDS France s’est mobilisée contre le fait que parmi les partenaires et sponsors du festival figuraient le service culturel de l’ambassade d’Israël qui se sert de l’histoire culturelle juive ou de toute opportunité culturelle pour blanchir l’Etat d’Israël de la politique de colonisation, d’apartheid et d’épuration ethnique qu’il développe en toute impunité contre le peuple palestinien, ainsi que le KKL qui est un instrument de dépossession du peuple palestinien, de vol de ses terres, et qui participe actuellement à l’expulsion des Bédouins d’Israël de leurs terres ancestrales.
Nous constatons avec satisfaction que cette année le KKL ne figure plus parmi les sponsors !
Mais nous constatons aussi que l’ambassade d’Israël figure encore parmi les sponsors.
Ceci est intolérable, alors que l’Etat d’Israël intensifie sa politique de répression et d’humiliation constantes du peuple palestinien : massacres de niveau inégalé à Gaza au cours de l’été dernier, embrasement de Jérusalem prétendue « capitale éternelle et indivisible du peuple juif », poursuite du blocus de Gaza et de la politique de colonisation de la Cisjordanie, répression contre les Palestiniens d’Israël …
Cette politique est largement condamnée par l’opinion publique internationale, et la Campagne BDS se développe dans le monde entier et remporte d’importants succès.
Mesdames et messieurs les organisateurs du Festival Jazz et Klezmer, entendez cette mobilisation pour la reconnaissance des droits du peuple palestinien.
Les fondements des cultures Jazz et Klezmer et ceux de l’Etat d’Israël, ce sont deux mondes opposés.
Le KKL ne figure plus cette année parmi les sponsors, mobilisons-nous pour l’exclusion de l’ambassade d’Israël également!

JAZZ AND KLEZMER FESTIVAL 2014: VICTORY SCORED AGAINST KKL
The 13th Festival of Jazz and Klezmer music is currently taking place in Paris.
The idea behind this festival is certainly an interesting one, making a connection between two music styles that have working-class roots: jazz and the Klezmer music that developed in Eastern Europe before the second world war as an element of Jewish culture and the Jewish language which was then yiddish.
In previous years the BDS France Campaign has demonstrated against the inclusion, among the partners and sponsors of the festival, of the culture department of the embassy of Israel, which uses Jewish cultural history and any cultural occasion in order to whitewash the State of Israel’s policy of colonisation, apartheid and ethnic cleansing, carried out with total impunity against the Palestinian people, as well as the KKL which is a vehicule for the dispossession of the Palestinian people and the theft of their land, and which is currently participating in the expulsion of the Bedouin people from their ancestral lands.
We are glad to note that this year the KKL no longer appears among the sponsors! But we also note that the embassy of Israel is still included.
This is intolerable, when Israel is intensifying its policies of oppression and humiliation of the Palestinian people: the unmatched massacres in Gaza during last summer, the inflaming of unrest in Jerusalem, claimed to be “the eternal and indivisible capital of the Jewish people”, the continued blockade of Gaza and colonisation of the West Bank, the oppression of the Palestinians of Israel….
These policies are widely condemned by international public opinion and the BDS Campaign is becoming increasingly successful all around the world.
We urge the organisers of the Jazz and Klezmer festival to heed the movement for the recognition of the rights of the Palestinian people.
The foundations of the Jazz and Klezmer culture and that of the State of Israel are worlds apart.
The KKL no longer being among the sponsors, let’s continue to demand also the exclusion of the embassy of Israel!
