Alongside the trade unions at Roissy CDG, we demand an end to military transfers to Israel!
We learnt yesterday that a new shipment of French military equipment destined for Israel is scheduled for this afternoon, 5 November, via Roissy Charles de Gaulle Airport.
The shipment consists of aeronautical components manufactured by Liebherr Aerospace in Aucamville, near Toulouse, and destined for Elbit Systems EW & SIGINT – a division of the Israeli defence giant specialising in ground-based electronic warfare and signals intelligence. The consignment comprises 11 packages, weighing a total of 1,227 kg.
The equipment, which had already been transported to Paris on 30 October, is due to be delivered on El Al flight LY324, scheduled to depart from Roissy CDG today at 2.45 pm CET. One month after the latest revelation concerning a shipment of French military equipment – produced by the company Mijno and destined for Elbit Systems Land – which was prevented thanks to trade union and public pressure exerted on Air France and the government, this new information serves as a reminder of the role France continues to play in the logistics chain of genocide, in complete contradiction to its obligations under the treaties and conventions it has ratified.
We welcome the action taken by the trade unions concerned – CGT 93, CGT Roissy, Sud aérien and Solidaires 93 – who are once again condemning and opposing these transfers. In their press release, which we are sharing below, the trade unions highlight France’s international obligations, warn of the role played by Roissy CDG airport in ‘supplying the military industry of a state accused of committing genocide in Gaza’, and call on the government to take immediate precautionary measures.
Alongside the unions as well as the organisations and groups that have mobilized, the BDS France campaign is calling for this delivery to be prevented, as well as any export or transit of military equipment to Israel.
We condemn the complicity of the companies that manufacture and sell essential components of Israeli weaponry, that of the transport operators, and that of the authorities who issue transfer and export licences.
We call for a total military embargo against the genocidal State of Israel.
