We are delighted that Ukrainian musician Sergei Babkin (Сергей Бабкин) cancelled his performance in Tel Aviv, Israel without any commitment to reschedule.
His booked performance at the Barby for 26 April was cancelled without a plausible explanation. We hope once he is made fully informed of the boycott he would continue refraining from rescheduling.
Increasingly, musicians of conscience from all over the world are choosing to respect the cultural boycott of Israel. Rolling Stones magazine published an article last month citing Roger Waters of Pink Floyd’s decision to advocate vocally for the boycott. Since 2005, Palestinian civil society has called for a boycott.
